Feet and Faith

Little bit of a fun, and a little bit of serious today. First, Alex's "johns island" feet earn their first starring role in one of his videos! Thankfully, no close-ups.

On a more serious note, Alex gives us a little glimpse of what it's like to be a follower of Christ in a communist country - interesting stuff.

Almost like being his sibling!

So a bit of a backlog this weekend because Ryan and I were in a little move this week - just to another country, nothing major ;)!

So more Alex than you ever wanted this week, it's almost like being his sibling, hmmm; no, actually, I'm afraid it is a very small group of us who can claim to have survived that experience :)! We have a support group. No, no, Alex is a fantastic brother. And as we have already established, I'm a really fantastic sister. And since it's Mother's Day, we must give credit where credit is due, we have a super, fantastic, amazing mom! Thanks mom! Happy Mother's Day from China!

Coup d'etat

I have the password . . . so I have the power ahahahahahaha (insert maniacal laugh here)!

Well, for the time being I'm afraid y'all are stuck with me as your trusty Alex-updater as China apparently blocks both "Blogger" and Facebook - commies ;). Here's a couple more videos from Alex - he even makes an appearance in one!

This first one is the group out for some dumplings. Alex says the food is pretty good, but that you kind of start to smell like it after awhile. They have also seen, but not yet tried some unusual dishes containing animal parts not commonly consumed by humans, or anyone else for that matter, in the states. Cow stomach sounds pretty interesting, as well as the "Hot Pot" - you sit around a pot filled with really hot spices and dip really weird foods into it, like the cow's stomach, or clotted blood, or my personal favorite - pig throat. Ewwwwwwww . . . hopefully if Alex does try any of these delicious delectables he videos his reaction - a reality tv show is born :)!

Greetings from China!

Well, sort of. This is Alex's sister Jane; I am merely passing on Alex's greetings from China. So here are Alex's first couple of videos after arriving safely in China (after 44 hours of travel). Alex is unable to post himself, so as the magnanimous and magnificent sister that I am ;), I have agreed to post things for now.

All is well with Alex; he is very much enjoying being the center of attention everywhere he goes with his oh so lovely blonde hair and blue eyes (quite the novelty apparently). No marriage proposals yet; there's still time though. But seriously, he really is having a great time soaking it all in and learning lots about Chinese culture and history. I'll hopefully be posting more photos and video as Alex sends them. Enjoy!

Ephesus

These are photos from our trip to ephesus not all of them are in order. However we did walk to ephesus essentially and then we ate a late lunch and went home. There will be more information about the pictures coming soon I just didn't have time to add it.
